Julie Chambers Fetzer

Julie was born in Los Angeles and raised in the quintessential Southern California
lifestyle - sun, sailing and surf. She attended University of California, Irvine, where
she studied Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. After working in the
industry for 15 years and a relocation to Jacksonville, Florida, she shifted her
focus to artistic pursuits.

As a vendor at the Riverside Arts Market since its inaugural year (2009), Julie has
grown her small business by focusing on developing personal connections with
potential patrons and establishing a loyal customer base and audience for her
work. In recent years, Julie has explored the themes of geography and iconic
structures within landscapes, as demonstrated by the overwhelming patron
response to her pen and ink drawing, “The Bridges of Jacksonville, FL,” one of
which hangs in the office of Councilman Jim Love, who represents Jacksonville's
14th District. Her watercolor maps have created collectors of her patrons, who
offer suggestions for future geographic subjects and eagerly await their arrivals.
Prints from her North Florida series hang in the homes of patrons in Japan, Spain,
throughout South America and the world, having been gifted by host families to
departing exchange students and purchased by former Jacksonvillians, now living
abroad, as a reminder of home.

As a small business owner, Julie believes in the power of community. She serves as
the Green Market Organizer for the annual Mandarin Arts Festival, for which she
has also designed the t-shirt for the annual event going on a decade. She also
serves on both the Vendor and Advisory Committees of the Riverside Arts Market
and proudly supports the local chapter of the American Cancer Society by
contributing original work for their annual Cowford Ball fundraiser.

Julie lives in Mandarin, a suburb of Jacksonville, with her daughter and their loyal
setter mix and studio assistant, Ginger the Wonderdog. When not in the studio,
Julie enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
